Recently TemplateMonster set its design team to a practical and creative task. What I’m talking about is TM’s tradition for helping to redesign community-oriented websites for a more attractive and functional web presence.OpenSource.org is a newly redesigned and rebranded resource, but it is actually one of the Internet’s old-timers that has helped many new users and merchants to succeed in eCommerce. And OpenSource.org is still a huge favorite out there!

TM has taken on projects of this kind before, and we have a special affection for www.OpenSource.org . Our experts have also recently redesigned anybrowser.org absolutely free of charge. Both anybrowser.org and opensource.org have done a great deal of good for internet users. We at TemplateMonster know that it was totally fitting to help these great guys to improve their designs. We just decided to assist them in upgrading their layout.

And along these same lines of helping out the people who help others out: we are always ready to help charity organizations and funds - or other altruistic websites - in their missions by offering to redesign their websites. After all we want to be the Internet’s design leader, and to do it responsibly. Are you next?

Our improved designs for osCommerce templates allow our customers to get complete function from even the standard osCommerce templates. We use an object-oriented system output, already built-in. Customers can enable the standard osCommerce features even if they are not present in the design. They will need to uncomment that part of the code which derives the certain informational block.

For example, imagine there are no block ‘Specials’ on the template’s design, but you want it. This is no problem at all. You just open the file column_right.php or the file column_left.php and uncomment that part of the code (it’s only one line) which derives the block ‘Specials’. The problem of subcategories is solved. Now, customers can add subcategories and images for them with confidence. Subcategories are in the block Categories as well as on the homepage.

You should not create a separate HTML page and put a link on it for designing the subpages. You need only add the text and title of this subpage using the admin-panel. The link to this page will appear in the special information block. The refreshing of your working store’s design is now much easier. If you already have a working shop and you would like to change its look you shouldn’t backup your database and restart the whole osCommerce shop. You only need to copy the necessary files and the design of your store will be updated.

Do you know that old legend about TemplateMonster and Ireland? Long ago there was a monster in Ireland who thought he was a leprechaun with a jug of gold. He did actually have a jug of golden coins but he was not quite a leprechaun. But that’s not the point. The point is that his financial counselor told him he should invest his fortune (the one that was in a jug) into Hi-Tec solutions as they were always highly profitable.

Web designs of those far years were very primitive and the monster/leprechaun decided to take over that niche. That is actually how our premium design templates were invented. At first all the products were green (a tribute to sweet Ireland) but later on the competition forced TemplateMonster.com (at that time he was TemplateLeprechaun.com) to diversify the color scheme of his products. But up until now green templates (like #14085, #14075, #14023, or for example #13810) are his favorite ones.

Every legend has its moral. We are not sure what the moral of this legend is, but still it’s nice isn’t it? We wish you all to be your own leprechaun for yourself and to have your own jug of gold!

Attention! The WordPress 2.1.1 version has recently been declared dangerous. The reason for this is that a security breech was created by a hacker. It was also determined that a hacker gained access to modify the download file. Fortunately, only the 2.1.1 was affected by the hacker, and not all of its downloads were corrupted.

Nevertheless, the entire version was announced to be dangerous and a new version, 2.1.2 was released. WordPress 2.1.2 does not differ from the previous version very much. It includes only minor changes and has completely verified files.

So you should upgrade all of your files to 2.1.2 immediately if you downloaded WordPress 2.1.1 within the past 3-4 days.
