Reply to Alexandra:

I had the sample version working fine, the purchased version i have had nothing but problems with, the tech support uploaded a new version to my server, they said there was a problem and that it worked. Thats great, it does work, but the difference between the versions is now giving me major headaches, i have spend hours editing the old flash verison and linked files all which have a xxxxx_ prefix, the new "working" version calls for _prefix. Sure it works by renaming files, but my old flash that is based in the old prefix is basically wasted 20+hours plus because it all looks fine but the gallery doesnt work, i think you guys really need to take a look at your products you are putting out, and also put some effort into the documentation you put out with the templates.

I am about to go postal!

I was contacted by Nicole in the marketing dept, she has been keeping tabs on my ticket and trying as best she can to work this out. One of the things I stressed, was that the tech need to communicate. The only response I would get is 'it works now'. No info on what they did or even which files were edited, so I never knew which files to back up on my computer. They are getting better though at communicating though. They now have everything working on my site except the image upload.

The big issue that most people are having is image upload isn't working. If that is the case for you, check with your hosting company and see if they are using PHPSUEXEC . If they are, you will not be able to get the upload to work, until (and if) they find a work around. It is part of the security of PHPSUEXEC that is blocking the uploading and not really a problem with the website program.

My suggestion was to give the Admin Panel a 'manual upload script. This would allow you to ftp the images to the folder, then click on manual upload and the scripting would do all the necessary stuff for the gallery. I honestly think this would be nice middle ground.

Another issue I have is that they list software required: Macromedia Flash 8. You don't need Macromedia flash 8 (an $800 program) unless you want to make changes to the flash template.

You do how ever need to have the Flash Plugin installed (free) to view the website

I uploaded the dynamic_flash_gallery_sample promoted on the home page of Template Monster.
But I am unable to make a single text change without the whole thing turning into Japanese characters when viewed in the browser. Is it me!!!

I have the correct kit eg Studio 8 including Dreamwaeaver 8 and Flash 8.
I have a host.
I have had assistance form their live support who are very nice.

They directed me to read the Flash help section , which I did.
However this does not seem to address my difficulty.
I can not get it to work.
I am lost now.

Once I pass this test I may want to purchase templates...can anyone HELP ME PLEASE?
